Public Hearing on Ordinance #06-07 to Transfer Town Property to T&G, LLC
Cafeteria at Fort Fairfield Middle/High School
Wednesday, April 26, 2006 6:00 P.M.

All council members present.

Attending for Public Hearing – 21 citizens

Dan welcomed those present.
He proceeded to describe the sale of the Municipal Building to Gerry Tanner and Terry Greenier in the amount of $100,000. The property has 1.34 Acres of land. The building has issues of air quality, which has been tested, plus structural problems and leaking. The building is not handicap accessible and no space for public meetings and is not energy efficient. Using just 3000 of 10,000 sq ft. the building uses $20,000 in heat and electricity per year.
The plans are to salvage the fire station as a museum and put a restaurant in the existing town office section.

Q. Norman Grant asked where the new building would be placed?
A. Talked about putting it adjacent to Grant’s building. Will have to sit and discuss.

Q. Dana Rattray asked where the purchase price came from?
A. The assessed value of the structure with the understanding that the development would
take place in three years.

Q. Tina Ireland asked what two buildings would be used?
A. The Fire Station and Town Office.

Q. Norman Grant asked about the garage?
A. It’s up to the new owner.

Public Hearing was closed at 6:15 pm

Respectfully,

Mary A. Whitmore
Council Secretary
