The Town of Fort Fairfield, Maine, is currently soliciting resumes for the position of Town Manager.  Fort Fairfield is a community of 3500, with a Council/Manager form of government, an annual budget of $3.0 million excluding schools, and 20 full-time employees.  The Town Council is seeking an individual with personnel management and labor relations experience, strong successful economic development experience, strong financial management and budgeting skills, and good communications skills.  The successful Manager candidate should be a creative problem solver with the ability to work as a team member, and demonstrate flexibility and openness in the performance of their job.

Candidates should possess at least 5 years of progressively responsible management experience.  The Town Council would prefer a candidate with municipal management experience and a degree in Public or Business Administration, however, individuals with equivalent experience and education are encouraged to apply.

The Town of Fort Fairfield, Maine is accepting applications for Deputy Town Clerk.

The Deputy assists the Town Clerk in the issuance of licenses and permits, recording documents and vital statistics, and maintenance of records. The individual in this position also serves as General Assistance Administrator and Registrar of Voters.
Applicants must be high school graduates, and should have experience in general office work, working with the public, proficiency in typing/word processing and the use of computers. The successful candidate must be able to work independently as well as with others, be self-motivated, have great communication and organizational skills, and a keen attention to detail.

This is a full-time position which offers a great benefits package that includes: Health Insurance, Retirement Plan, Paid Holidays and Vacation. Salary commensurate with experience

The Town of Fort Fairfield, Public Works Department is acceptingbids on a 1999 Dodge Pickup, in as is, where is condition.  There is no warranty on the vehicle.  The vehicle can be viewed by contacting Kevin Senal at 207-554-9952.   

In order to be considered as a valid bid, bid documents shall be sealed and clearly marked on the outside envelope “Bid for 1999 Dodge Pickup” and include the name of the company or person submitting the bid.  Bids for the 1999 Dodge Pickup will be received until 4:00 PM, on August 3, 2018 at the Town of Fort Fairfield Municipal Building, 18 Community Center Drive, Fort Fairfield, ME 04742, at which time they will be opened and read aloud.  The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids.



The Code Enforcement Officer manages the development of the Town of Fort Fairfield by utilizing the adopted ordinances, codes and statutes of the municipality and the state. The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for administrative and techinical work in carrying out land use, building and plumbing permitting and inspections and securing compliance with the Town's ordinances, codes and zoning regulations.  This person is the Town's authorized Building Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Shoreland Zoning Officer and Land Use Regulator
.


Responsibilities:


The Town code enforcement officer is responsible for issuing building, development, plumbing and demolition permits; conducting building, land use and plumbing inspections; enforcing municipal zoning ordinances, municipal building codes, the municipal floodplain management ordinance and certain specific State adopted Codes and Laws.  This person maintains liaison with appropriate state and local agencies, and maintains departmental records and reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Town Manager with considerable independent judgement and discretion in accordance with applicable laws and ordinances.  Work is reviewed through reports, discussions and results achieved.

Town of Fort Fairfield - Town Manager Responsibilities

The Town Manager is appointed by the Town Council and is responsible for administering the policies as established by the Town Council. The Manager serves as the chief administrative officer and head of the administrative branch of the Town Government. The duties include complete executive direction of the administrative services of the Town.

The administrative services of the Town are divided, under the Town Manager, into the following areas: Finance Department, Town Clerk's Office, Police Department, Fire Department, Recreation Department, Community Library, Public Works Department and Human Resources/General Assistance Department as well as a Community and Economic Development Department.

In addition to the day to day administrative responsibilities the Manager's office is also responsible for compiling and submitting the Municipal Budget to the Council. Once the Budget is adopted the Manager is responsible for the administration of the budget.
